Dream Gardens
Gardens and parks are popular as places where people can let their imaginations run and their dreams come true. This has a long tradition. In China it dates back some 2000 years and has influenced Japanese garden design since the 6th century. However, as with other foreign influences in Japan, it has developed into a distinct, extremely varied and fascinating Japanese garden culture, the influence of which can now be felt all over the world. Even without knowing all the religious and philosophical underpinnings of each garden design, one can feel the spirit of life expressed in it and be fascinated by the aesthetics of the forms that make it visible. In this way, one can share the dreams of the garden designers and continue to dream them.
